Know Self

Berber woman- The Berbers are a part of my own ancestry. Know self, know beauty and know your own intelligence.

There certainly is value in knowing who you are and what you are about.  And for black women this is a must. You can no longer afford to simply just---be. This thing about being just---be…is an EPIC FAIL! All you have to do is just look around you. Know who you are as an individual, what you are capable of, your gifts and talents and your beautiful influence as a feminine woman. Too often we do not know these things about ourselves and it has hurt us in many areas of our self-confidence. The confidence to learn, to move on from personal problems, the confidence to know that we are beautiful and desirable women.  Generally speaking, in western society, we must work a bit harder to maintain our own set of beauty standards(inside and out). Our beauty in reality has not gone by the wayside, this is only an illusion fed to you by the powers that be. For us, it is also important to know our fore mothers and the legacy they have left us. I speak beyond the slave times, reaching backwards when we wore our jewelry, had our businesses, wore our crowns, had our say and knew …just knew…what we were about.

The challenge is: How well do you know thy self?

Historical Highlight: Dahia Al Kahina

The first historical highlight is:

Dahia Al Kahina (688 - 705 AD ruled) She was born in the region of Mauritania in North Africa. Dahia was a defender against the Arab invaders in the region.  It is suspected that she was of Hebrew origin. Arguments have taken place as to her race, but she was always describe as black by Arab writers. She was described by them as having, "dark skin, a mass of hair and huge eyes." She united various people throughout North Africa and for a while remained a great force to be reckoned with, until her defeat in 705 AD)

A True Story: God's Hand Was In It All (Abuse, Prostitution and Hopelessness

A well written book, a true story about abuse, drugs, prostitution and hopelessness and how she came out of it. Abuse of women seems to be on the increase and more women are coming out to discuss these matters. Tracie Chandler is one such brave woman to share her experience through a book-- a true life story. As a screenwriter, I would say this book should be turned into a movie! Everyone who has read this book feels it to be deep, as well as inspiring to many women. God's Hand Was In It All deserves major recognition!

Beauty Tip: Brighter teeth

A small beauty tip that can make a difference is using Hydrogen peroxide as a teeth whitener, at least brighten them. Pour a cap full or two in the mouth and swish around for about 10 min., after brushing and flossing. You can do this daily, this will also help get rid of any canker sores present.

Starting Inside

Today, I venture to say that much of our circumstances whether negative or positive stem 

from our spiritual lives. How well are we living? When I ask this question, I am not in the

thought frame of riches and materialism. But what is our relationship like with the Most 

High? Do we seek Him first in everything we do and pursue? If we lack, are our eyes on 

Him?

No matter where we are in life, we can do awesome things if we open our hearts to Elohim. I 

don’t care if you are/ or have been on drugs, abused, or simply unsuccessful in your 

attempts to reach your goals.

It all starts from within. Inside of each individual is wiring specific to that person---you are 

not a mistake and don’t let anyone decide you should be clone of someone else. Find out how 

you work and move on from there. What are your likes? Hobbies? Do you like working with 

other people? How can these things be used to help self and community.

As black women, the mistake we make is that we assume our problems are psycho-

social.  I am here to tell you that it isn’t! Psycho-social ills are a symptom of something 

deeper. Once again ladies, start inward, start in the spirit and then the spirit of a people 

collectively. For those who are geared spiritually, try asking the Creator to show you the real 

problems with real solutions. 

Mat 6:33  “But seek first the reign of Elohim, and His righteousness, and all these matters shall be added to you.

Mat 6:34  “Do not, then, worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow shall have its own worries. Each day has enough evil of itself.

Welcome, to my blog!

I have created this blog for the women who’s been through it all, dropped, cracked, scraped and left forgotten in the corner shelf of time and dust. There are times a woman can feel forgotten misrepresented, abused and plain ole invisible- especially black women. So Black Ladies, this blog is for you! It is here to uplift, encourage and remind you of, who you are. You no longer have to ride the coat tails of those who only seem to control what you should say and do. Take your life into your own hands and be the woman Our Father wanted you to be.

Pro 31:10  Who does find a capable wife? For she is worth far more than rubies. 

Pro 31:11  The heart of her husband shall trust her, And he has no lack of gain. 

Pro 31:12  She shall do him good, and not evil, All the days of her life. 

Pro 31:13  She shall seek wool and flax, And with delight she works with her hands. 

Pro 31:14  She shall be as the ships of Tarshish, She brings in her food from afar. 

Pro 31:15  She also rises while it is still night, And provides food for her household, And a portion for her girls. 

Pro 31:16  She shall consider a field and buy it; From her profits she shall plant a vineyard. 

Pro 31:17  She shall gird herself with strength, And strengthen her arms. 

Pro 31:18  She shall taste when her gain is good; Her lamp does not go out by night. 

Pro 31:19  She shall stretch out her hands to the distaff, And her hand shall hold the spindle. 

Pro 31:20  She shall extend her hand to the poor, And she shall reach out her hands to the needy. 

Pro 31:21  She is not afraid of snow for her household, For all her household is dressed in scarlet. 

Pro 31:22  She shall make tapestry for herself; She is dressed in fine linen and purple. 

Pro 31:23  Her husband is known in the gates, When he sits among the elders of the land. 

Pro 31:24  She shall make fine linen and sell them, And shall give girdles for the merchants. 

Pro 31:25  Strength and splendour are her garments, And she rejoices in time to come. 

Pro 31:26  She shall open her mouth with wisdom, And on her tongue is the Torah of kindness. 

Pro 31:27  She watches over the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness. 

Pro 31:28  Her children shall rise up and call her blessed; Her husband too, and he praises her: 

Pro 31:29  “Many daughters have done nobly, But you have risen over them all.” 

Pro 31:30  Loveliness is deceptive And prettiness is vain, A woman who fears יהוה is to be praised. 

Pro 31:31  Give her of the fruit of her hands, And let her works praise her in the gates.
